1/2/2023 0 Comments Leica m7The size, shape and the successful operation concept of the LEICA M6 have all been fully adopted. Leica's unique rubber-cloth focal-plane shutter with vibration-free and whisper-quiet action is electronically controlled. The new functions have been smoothly integrated into the classic Leica M camera concept. The camera features enhanced operation speed and convenience. Inside the silver box package there are instruction manual, warranty cards and certificates undersigned by Leica AG board members Hanns-Peter Cohn and Ralf Coenen. The LEICA M7 introduced by Leica Camera AG, Solms, is a new rangefinder system camera with aperture priority automatic exposure and many improved details. The case, made of aluminum but painted with titanium colour, allows the titanium body and lenses to lie comfortably inside. A custom-made case commissioned to Rimowa, a Germany-based leading manufacturer of luggage, was built specially for the 3 lens kit sets. Therefore, it increases the value accordingly. Second, as the casting tool is easy to wear down under high temperature, it needs to change the casting tool very often in order to produce perfect finishing products. First, it takes a lot of time to cast a piece of titanium, around five times longer than casting the same pieces in brass or aluminum. However, the casting of titanium is not an easy work. It has light weight, allowing M7 Titanium to be 13% lighter than standard M7. Titanium is hard and corrosion-resistant. The camera top was engraved “1954-2004 50 Jahre Leica M System” special wording, marking the period from 1954 where Leica M3, the first Leica camera with M bayonet was introduced to 2004 where Leica had gone through 50 years. The middle part of the camera body is covered by black bridle leather, enhancing the texture and making it more beautiful. Previous M6 and M6 TTL Titanium were only covered with a titanium outer finish, but all inner and outer metal parts of Leica M7 Titanium (more than 30 parts in total) are made of solid titanium, including top deck, baseplate, all interior and exterior operation elements and even the Leica logo. The 3 lens kit came with Summilux-M 50mm f/1.4 ASPH, Summicron 28mm f/2 ASPH and Apo-Summicron 90mm f/2 ASPH lenses made of Titanium. Leica released M7 Titanium “50 Jahre M-System” 3 lens kit of only 50 sets in 2004 to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Leica M system.
